Take Stock: Images of Change

Take Stock houses a unique collection of over 75,000 images focused sharply on just two subjects:

The Civil Rights revolution, including images of Martin Luther King.

Cesar Chavez and the struggle of migrant farm workers.

The special qualities of these images flow directly from the passionate convictions of the photographers who made them. They were not simply hired professionals on assignment, but talented image-makers dedicated personally to the cause of social justice. Check their biographies for evidence of this commitment. Browse the picture collection to see the difference it made.
We think you will find much to admire here. To gain access to the site, we ask that you accept the terms and conditions on which we make these images available to you.

Take Stock recently licensed Bob Fitch's image of Cesar Chavez to the United States Postal Service as a basis for the Chavez commemorative stamp. The USPS illustrator added a different background to the final version. To see other Fitch photographs, browse our Farm Worker portfolios, especially Cesar Chavez, Police Brutality, and Field Work.
